I want to lose body fat AND bulk up. Should I try to lose the fat first then weight train?
Bulking up means you have to consume a lot of protein and I don't seem to make much headway burning off the fat when I am eating my weight in protein grams. Can you have it both ways? Or is it better to concentrate on one or the other (the burning fat vs. gaining fat free muscle)?
You have to re think this----- do both and live well at the same time.
Too much protein is too much. They make a lot of money selling that stuff.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet, with some protein, carbs and fat.
Eat a little less fat and less sugar and white flour.
Whole grain, natural fruit and vegetables are what you need.
Lean meat and fish are good too.
Sugary and fatty meat( BBQ ribs) and donuts are not good.
Fries and ground beef on a bun are not much good if you are trying to slim down.
You do not really need to eat a diet of protein supplements.
A Multiple vitamin and good water along with fresh food will cure your diet problems.
Train by warming up and doing some cardio to get your metaboism going. Then cool down and stretch. Do this every day for 30 to 60 minutes. You will lose the fat. And you will be improving your stamina.
Three days a week,
----in addition to your cardio work, ---strength train , heavy work, with limited repetitions until you are exhausted in that muscle group.
Then move to another muscle group.
When you are done, Cool down and stretch out gently.
Repeat three days a week.
Drink a lot of water and no sugar, no caffiene drinks.
Eating 200 grams of protein is probably 150 grams too much unless you are in SEAL TEAM training or actually working out 16 hours a day. All that protein is hard on the kidneys since they have to dispose of all the urea and other nitrogen that your body will need to get rid of every day. You need protein to build new muscle mass. You will get protien from the healthy diet with healthy foods and vitamins.
