18 y/o female, ostearthritis in spine and 3 herniated disks. I HAVE to lose weight! Any tips??

I'm not horridly overweight, just moderately, and I was just told that I need to lose weight, or I'm going to be in a wheelchair by the time I'm 25 or 30.
I've got osteoarthritis in my spine, 3 bulging disks, Fibromyalgia, and this extra weight is making it a hell of a lot worse.
If I get this weight off, I will have virtually NO pain!

I need to lose 20-30 pounds, and I want to lose at least 15 of it pretty soon.
I'm 5'2", 170-178lbs, large frame (according to the whole wrist/finger ratio) and the "healthy" weight for someone my height is supposedly 120.

If you saw me, you'd know that I would look deathly ill at 120, so my goal weight will eventiually be 145.
For now I'm just hoping to get down under 160!
My goal by the first week of september is to have lost 10 pounds.

What tips can you give me on how to not only LOSE the weight (safely, no pills or crash diets), but keep it OFF and keep in shape?

before my injury -i was 135 pounds and worked hard..
then I had surgery and it left me numb from waist down and they dold me that I would not walk again..
WELL i was determined... I am walking my history is long, but I am not the one topic here -lol

With 3 herniated disk anything is gonna hurt like hell- but can i encourage you -PLEASE to try pool therapy1 Go to an indoor pool - DO NOt worry about what you look like and get in that water.
You can do all the same land based exercises but in the water and it will feel alot better because you are 1/3 your weight in the pool!
So I would ask the Dr for a referral right away. they have things like kick boards and fun-noodles that real to take the pressure off.
I would put the kick board in front of me and lean on it -
Most pools for therapy - they are the therapy pools and start with a 3ft - 5ft section.

All you eed to do too is walk back and forth in the water, or you can swim. doing the back float or whatever. BUT BE CAREFUL YOU CAN OVER DUE IT AND THEN WHAT GOOD IS THAT... 20 minute sessions to start-
it is always important too to follow up in the hot tub if you can tolerate it.

I have done this - I lost 75 pounds -i was in the water everyday-of course I had an advantage I owned the pool and could go at anytime. but the days i felt horrible - even if I grabbed a fun noodle or a kickboard and walked at least i was moving -or doing bicycle moves ..I got in there and it is soooo relaxing . once you lose a few pounds.. you will get soooo excited. Make sure you have water with you and drink all you can.

I feel so much better... please talk to me and i will encourage you every day- even when you feel horrible! YOU CAN DO IT AND MAYBE YOU HAVE A FRIEND THAT WILL STAND BY YOU!

the other thing is at dinner fill your plate once -and spread it out - it looks more then it is and subconsciously tells you - you are full. Not saying starve... if you want more then OK. but a little less calorie intake is always wise... It works
no fancy diets, no rigorous exercise - in 6 months time you will feel great! I since sold my business because I needed more surgery, but i have maintained and i am rather proud of that-
